It may look like just a lens, but the front of the camera houses at least 3 major elements.

Dual lasers activate on demand, sending out referencing beams indicating two pieces of information, where the camera is pointed, and if it is level.

The VholdR ContourHD has a whopping 135º wide angle lens! This is wide enough to put everything in the frame but not so wide that it distorts the landscape(most regular digital cameras only offer a 60 to 75 degree angle of view)

 

Both the lens and the capture card rotate together 192 degrees within a pivoting hermetically sealed capsule. This means no matter how you mount the camera, VholdR sees a level world.

Armored Video

 

Housed in a tough, black aluminum enclosure, the Vholdr is not some fragile consumer cam that shatters into tiny plastic pieces if you drop it.

The water-resistant body is made of anodized aluminum and rigorously tested to withstand dirt, dust, mud and snow.

Full HD 1080p resolution is 1920x1020 pixels captured at 30fps in HD mode.

 

Video is saved as a .MOV file with h.264 video encoding and AAC audio encoding. At this resolution, the ContourHD will capture 30 minutes of video per gigabyte in HD mode. The included 2GB MicroSD card will hold one hour of video in HD format.

 

Flipping the HD/SD switch to SD crops the viewing angle to a 4:3 aspect ratio at 60 fps, which is useful for capturing fast moving objects . Videos at 60 fps look much more smoother and less "jittery" when recording high speed action.

 

In SD mode the record time is doubled to 60min per GB i.e. the included 2GB MicroSD card will hold two hours of video in SD mode.

 

 

 

   

                   

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Fine Line Processing

Smear kills action video.If a video processor can’t keep up with the action, the result is jagged lines and smeared images. So VholdR changed the rules.

Instead of relying on a software–based system, VholdR created a hardware–based processor dedicated to one thing – video. This is the equivalent to hiring an employee to only turn on the lights – no answering phones, running for coffee, or stroking any egos.

The result? Smooth, sharp, and colourful TV quality 

audio and video.

 

Flexible Mounting

With the Vholdr's patented TRail mount system, rails on the side allow you to quickly slide and lock the camera into place. Removal is equally simple.

Numerous mounting options exist for flat surfaces, goggles, helmets  handlebars  and vehicle windscreens.

The ContourHD makes it as easy to share videos as it does to record them. Thanks to VholdR’s Easy EditTM software (PC and Mac compatible) users can easily edit, upload, and share their videos with friends, family, and the world.

 

Connecting camcorder to your computer has never been easier. Just plug your VholdR into your computer with the included USB cable. Then, open the included VholdR software, and choose a folder to download all of your VholdR videos.

 

Find the best part of your video, select the "Set Start" button at the beginning of the clip, the "Set Stop" button at the end, and wrap it up with the "Finish" button. Congratulations, you just clipped your video.

 

Be the producer and enter the title, date, tags, description, and location of your video. Now your videos will play on Contour.com next to a beautiful map and be searchable by fellow enthusiasts.

 

Publishing your videos to Contour.com takes a single click..."Share." Even if you drop your internet connection in the middle of the upload, the Easy Edit software will remember where you left off and continue from the same spot.
